Aerial Application
Agricultural drones are revolutionising how Australian farmers manage crop spraying, offering a cost-effective and precise alternative to helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and even traditional ground sprayers, especially on smaller or hard-to-reach properties.
Using GPS guidance and real-time crop health data, these autonomous drones apply fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides exactly where needed. This targeted approach reduces chemical usage, lowers labour and operational costs, speeds up application times, and allows easy access to wet or difficult terrain, all while improving sustainability by minimising overspray and runoff.
As precision agriculture continues to evolve, drone spraying is rapidly becoming the preferred method for modern farms and is expected to dominate the industry within the next decade.
Using Australian Agricultural Drones for pesticide, fertiliser or seed application delivers major cost savings and boosts crop yields through precise, targeted spraying. Key benefits include:
Significant Cost Reduction: Aerial pesticide application uses 1/3 to 1/4 of the chemicals compared to traditional ground methods, saving thousands on products like Glyphosate.
Variable Rate Fertiliser Application: After multispectral crop surveys, our drones automatically adjust fertiliser amounts—applying more where plants are stressed and less where healthy—cutting costs and preventing nitrate poisoning.
Time & Labour Efficiency: Cover up to 20 hectares per hour with reduced labour, speeding up spraying of chemicals, fertilisers, and seeds.
Precision Spraying: Spray swaths of 6m–11m ensure accurate coverage, reducing waste and input costs.
Improved Crop Health & Soil Preservation: Spot treatments address problem areas while avoiding heavy machinery that causes soil compaction.
Access to Difficult Terrain: Navigate challenging farm landscapes easily for consistent application.
Eco-Friendly Farming: Minimise chemical run-off and exposure to harmful substances, supporting sustainable agriculture.

RATES AND FEES
At Australian Agricultural Drones, our aerial application fees are straightforward and charged at a fixed rate based on the volume or weight of product applied per hectare:
Maximum Standard Liquid Application Rate: $1.00 per litre per hectare
Maximum Standard Solid Application Rate: $1.25 per kilogram per hectare
Example: Applying 40 litres of liquid product per hectare costs $40 per hectare.
We also offer substantial discounts on jobs over 10 hectares to make large-scale applications more affordable.
For spot spraying or smaller tasks, our rate is $300 per hour.
While we hold licenses to supply liquid and solid chemical products, we typically require customers to provide their own. However, we can expertly mix chemicals onsite according to your product specifications for optimal application. We can purchase chemical product however prior payment is required.
Returning customers benefit from exclusive discounts. Contact us via email to receive an accurate, tailored quote for your farm’s needs.
